Material amounts are approximate and vary by design — use them as a shopping-list starting point, then follow the linked tutorial for the exact build.
Resource Farms
Iron Farm (Villager + Golem)
mediumYields: Iron ingots (200+/hr) — tools, armor, hoppers, anvils, rails, buckets
Materials needed
- 3 villagers (minimum; one gets scared to trigger golem spawns)
- ~20 beds
- 2 water buckets
- 2–4 hoppers + 1–2 chests
- ~12 fences / fence gates
- ~4 torches
- 1 stack (64) cobblestone or building blocks
- 1 zombie or 1 zombie villager
- 1 name tag (optional, keeps the zombie)
- ~10 glass or wall blocks
Overworld, near/inside your base. Works on Java & Bedrock (rates differ).
Gold Farm (Zombified Piglin, Nether)
mediumYields: Gold nuggets/ingots, rotten flesh, swords, XP — bartering, powered rails, armor
Materials needed
- 1 stack (64) magma blocks (spawn platform)
- 2–3 stacks (128–192) slabs (spawn-proofing)
- 3–5 hoppers + 1–2 chests
- ~16 trapdoors
- ~5 stacks (320) building blocks
- ~1 stack (64) ladders
- 1 water bucket (Overworld-portal variant)
- 10 obsidian (portal variant)
- 1 Looting III sword
Nether Wastes biome, near max build height for best rates.
Sugarcane Farm
easyYields: Sugarcane → paper & sugar — books, maps, rockets, cakes, trading
Materials needed
- 1 stack (64) sugarcane to start
- ~1 stack (64) dirt, sand, or mud
- 1 water bucket per row
- 1 observer per column
- 1 piston per column
- ~1 stack (64) building blocks
- 2–4 hoppers + 1 chest
- ~10 redstone dust (only if using a clock)
Anywhere near water. Works on Java & Bedrock.
Bamboo Farm
easyYields: Bamboo — furnace fuel, scaffolding, panda breeding; faster than sugarcane
Materials needed
- 1 stack (64) bamboo to start
- ~1 stack (64) dirt, sand, gravel, or podzol (no water needed)
- 1 observer per column
- 1 piston per column
- ~1 stack (64) building blocks
- 2–4 hoppers + 1 chest
Same design as sugarcane — can share one build. Java & Bedrock.
Cobblestone / Stone Generator
easyYields: Cobblestone or stone — building, smelting XP, mason villager trades
Materials needed
- 1 water bucket (or 1 ice block)
- 1 lava bucket
- ~10 building blocks (to shape the trench)
- 1 piston (automatic designs)
- ~6 redstone dust + 1 repeater (automatic designs)
- 1–2 hoppers + 1 chest (collection designs)
- a few stairs (waterlogged, stone-generator variant)
Anywhere, including the Nether (cobblestone only).
Cactus Farm
easyYields: Cactus — green dye, smelting XP, mob-damage fences
Materials needed
- ~16 cactus to start
- 1 sand block per cactus (~16+)
- 1 observer + 1 piston per column
- 2–4 hoppers + 1 chest
- ~1 stack (64) building blocks (frame/walls)
On sand, anywhere. Pairs well with a smelting farm for free XP.
Tree / Wood Farm
easyYields: Logs, saplings, apples — building, sticks, charcoal, tools
Materials needed
- ~8 saplings to start
- ~1 stack (64) bone meal (optional, speeds growth)
- dirt or grass blocks (1 per tree)
- 1 piston + 1 observer per tree (auto-harvest)
- 2–4 hoppers + 1 chest
- ~2 stacks (128) building blocks (frame)
Anywhere with open space above for growth.
Lava Farm (Dripstone)
easyYields: Lava — best furnace fuel in the game, obsidian crafting
Materials needed
- 1 lava bucket (starter)
- ~10+ dripstone blocks (more = faster drip)
- a few glass blocks
- 1 cauldron per drip point
- ~16 building blocks (frame/support)
Anywhere — compact, cheap, great early automation.
Mob & Combat Farms
Creeper Farm (Gunpowder)
mediumYields: Gunpowder (1700–3500+/hr), music discs, XP — TNT, fireworks/rockets
Materials needed
- ~1 stack (64) trapdoors (lower the ceiling to exclude tall mobs)
- ~5 stacks (320) building blocks (platform + walls)
- 2–4 water buckets
- 1 cat or 1 snow golem (optional — herds/scares creepers)
- a few magma blocks or campfires (kill mechanism)
- 2–4 hoppers + 1–2 chests
- ~2 stacks (128) slabs (spawn-proofing)
- 1 Looting III sword (manual finishing kills)
Best over ocean biomes to reduce competing spawns.
Ghast Farm (Gunpowder + Ghast Tears)
hardYields: Gunpowder, ghast tears — end crystals, dried ghasts, Regeneration potions
Materials needed
- ~10 stacks building blocks (large enclosure)
- ~2 stacks slabs or carpet (floor spawn-proofing)
- water or lava — a few buckets (kill mechanism)
- 3–6 hoppers + 2 chests
- ~1 stack glass or barrier blocks
- 2–3 Fire Resistance potions (to build safely)
Soul Sand Valley in the Nether — ghasts spawn far more there.
Skeleton Farm (Bones & Arrows)
mediumYields: Bones, arrows, bows, XP, occasional enchanted gear — bones make bone meal
Materials needed
- 1 mob spawner (dungeon) or a dark spawning room
- ~2 stacks (128) building blocks (sealed 9×9 room)
- 2 water buckets (to funnel mobs)
- a few signs or trapdoors (hold water back from the drop shaft)
- ~1 stack (64) torches (light everywhere except the farm)
- 2–3 hoppers + 1 hopper minecart
- 1–2 chests
- item sorter (optional)
Built around a natural dungeon spawner underground.
Enderman Farm (XP + Ender Pearls)
hardYields: Massive XP + ender pearls — the best late-game XP farm
Materials needed
- ~15+ stacks building blocks (void platform, 43+ blocks from any island)
- 1 endermite (optional — lures endermen)
- 1 name tag (to anchor the endermite)
- 2 water buckets
- ~4 stacks slabs or carpet (spawn-proofing)
- ~1 stack (64) leaves or blocks (chute)
- 3–6 hoppers + 2 chests
- 1 ender pearl (to make endermite bait, if used)
The End, far from any island, near build height / void level.
Guardian Farm (Ocean Monument)
hardYields: Prismarine, raw cod, ink sacs, sponges (elder guardians), huge XP
Materials needed
- ~10 sponges (drain the monument; from elder guardian kills)
- several stacks sand (draining aid / walls)
- ~20 stacks building blocks (spawning chamber)
- water buckets (several)
- ~1 stack signs (control water flow)
- magma blocks or campfires (kill mechanism)
- 4–8 hoppers + 2–3 chests
- 10 obsidian + flint and steel (portal-based designs)
- blue ice (optional, fast mob transport)
At an ocean monument in a deep ocean; clear the 3 elder guardians first.
Wither Trap (Nether Stars)
hardYields: Nether stars (for beacons) + huge XP
Materials needed
- 4 soul sand or soul soil (T-shape to summon)
- 3 wither skeleton skulls (farmed in Nether fortresses)
- ~1 stack (64) obsidian or explosion-proof blocks (kill chamber)
- 1 anvil (to pin the wither in place)
- 1 bow/crossbow + ~1 stack arrows, or a strong melee weapon
- 2–4 golden apples and/or potions (survivability)
- 2 hoppers + 1 chest
A repeatable summon-and-kill trap; build a containment box in the Overworld or End.
Raid Farm (Totems & Emeralds)
hardYields: Totems of Undying, emeralds, redstone, iron, saddles
Materials needed
- 1 villager with a bell (trigger/reset raids)
- 1 boat (transport the villager)
- ~8 stacks building blocks (platforms + kill chamber)
- water buckets (funneling)
- 3–6 hoppers + 2 chests
- 1 Bad Omen source (kill a raid captain)
- strong armor + weapon (evokers/vindicators hit hard)
Away from any village, in an open flat area so mobs funnel predictably.
Drowned Farm (Tridents & Copper)
mediumYields: Tridents, nautilus shells, copper ingots, rotten flesh, XP
Materials needed
- ~6 stacks building blocks (tower over ocean)
- water buckets (flood the spawn floor)
- ~2 stacks blocks to dim the light (roof/canopy)
- ~16 trapdoors (funnel)
- 2–4 hoppers + 1–2 chests
- a few magma blocks (or a manual kill setup)
Over open ocean where drowned are known to spawn.
Slime Farm
mediumYields: Slimeballs — sticky pistons, leads, magma cream, slime blocks
Materials needed
- 1 confirmed slime chunk (locate it first)
- ~4 stacks (256) building blocks (multi-layer platform)
- ~2 stacks slabs (spawn-proofing)
- 2 water buckets
- 2 hoppers + 1 chest
- a few magma blocks or a campfire (kill mechanism)
Below Y=40 inside a confirmed slime chunk, or a swamp at night.
Food, Crop & Animal Farms
Automatic Crop Farm (Wheat / Carrot / Potato)
easyYields: Wheat, carrots, potatoes, seeds — food, breeding, trading
Materials needed
- ~1 stack (64) farmland (hoe + tilled dirt)
- water source blocks (1 per 4×4 area)
- 1 stack starter seeds / carrots / potatoes
- 1 farmer villager (auto-harvest designs)
- 1 composter + 1 hopper (job block)
- 2–4 hoppers + 1 chest
- 1 piston + water (non-villager harvester designs)
Near your base or trading hall. Java & Bedrock.
Automatic Cow / Animal Farm
easyYields: Cooked beef/porkchop, leather, XP
Materials needed
- 2+ breeding animals (cows, pigs, etc.)
- ~1 stack (64) wheat (or animal food) for breeding
- ~20 fences or building blocks (pen)
- 1 lava block or campfire (auto-cook kill mechanism)
- 2 hoppers + 1 chest
- 1 dispenser + 1 button (semi-auto killing designs)
Anywhere — ideally tucked underground or near base.
AFK Fishing Farm
easyYields: Fish, enchanted books, name tags, saddles, treasure
Materials needed
- 1 fishing rod (Lure III recommended)
- 1 water pool (1×1 minimum)
- 1 trapdoor (AFK auto-fishing mechanic)
- 1 note block or observer (full-auto designs)
- 1–2 hoppers + 1 chest
- 1 water bucket
A small enclosed pool, ideally indoors to avoid weather.
Bee / Honey Farm
easyYields: Honey bottles, honeycomb — food, candles, beehives, honey blocks
Materials needed
- 1 beehive or bee nest
- 2+ bees (to breed)
- a few flowers nearby (pollination)
- 1 campfire (collect without angering bees)
- glass bottles or 1 shears
- ~16 building blocks (housing)
Near flower fields for pollination efficiency.
Automatic Wool Farm
easyYields: Wool (all 16 colors) — beds, carpets, paintings, banners
Materials needed
- 1 sheep per color (up to 16 for a full rainbow farm)
- 1 dispenser per sheep, loaded with shears
- ~10 redstone dust + 1 clock or button
- ~1 stack (64) building blocks (pens)
- 1 hopper per pen + chests
- grass blocks under the sheep (wool regrows from eating grass)
Near your base — cheap utility build.
XP Farms
Nether Portal Gold + XP Farm
easyYields: XP + gold — no spawner needed, great early/mid game
Materials needed
- 10 obsidian (portal frame)
- 1 flint and steel
- ~10 redstone dust + 1 clock circuit (flick the portal on/off)
- ~8 trapdoors
- 1–2 water buckets (chute)
- 1 trident (trident-killer mechanism)
- 2 hoppers + 1 chest
High in the sky within the Nether. Great for Bedrock.
Infestation Spawner XP Farm
mediumYields: Massive XP from a boosted natural spawner
Materials needed
- 1 brewing stand + blaze powder
- 1 nether wart
- a few spider eyes
- gunpowder (for the splash-potion variant)
- stone blocks + infested stone bricks
- 1+ Potion of Infestation
- ~1 stack building blocks (spawner room)
Requires a located dungeon/mineshaft spawner. Bedrock-focused.
