Blaze Spawner XP Farm

Blaze spawners only appear in Nether fortresses, and this farm stands apart from every other spawner farm on this page for one reason: water evaporates instantly in the Nether. None of the funneling tricks used for skeletons, zombies, spiders, or drowned work here at all. Moving a blaze from spawn to kill point has to be done entirely with solid mechanics: pistons, trapdoors, soul sand bubble columns, or straight fall-shaft gravity.

Blazes fly instead of walk, and they shoot fireballs at range, which makes a purely fall-based funnel less reliable than for ground mobs. Many designs instead trap the blaze in a narrow one-wide vertical shaft the instant it spawns, using pistons that seal in behind it, forcing it straight down rather than giving it room to fly around and line up a shot.

Fire immunity for yourself matters more here than almost anywhere else on this list. Fire Resistance is close to mandatory both while building (you're working directly around an active spawner already producing hostile mobs) and often while running it, since blazes are already fire-immune and won't be slowed by anything that would normally stop a mob.

A Nether fortress and its blaze spawner are a fixed, genuinely rare find, not every fortress even has an accessible spawner room, so this is one of the harder farms to just rebuild if the first attempt goes wrong. Most people scout the whole fortress and plan the containment structure before breaking a single block near the spawner.

Blaze rods are the entire point. Blaze powder, made from rods, fuels brewing stands, and combined with an ender pearl it makes an Eye of Ender, which you need to both find and activate a stronghold's End portal. A working blaze farm is effectively the thing most players build specifically to make reaching the End manageable at all.
